Watch it grow

I've been blogging my first-time kale growing experience. From seedlings to a giant delicious crop in just a couple months. I have to say this is one of the easiest veggies to grow.

Sprouts

Several weeks ago, I posted about the seed I planted. Here are the sprouts coming up in early spring.  So much fun.   After this, I thinned them out a bit--soon, there will be kale!

Garden surprise

Usually the garden is full of wonderful surprises.  The first spring flower in bloom.  A snail for a little kid to find.  Showing up in August to find several ripe tomatoes, ready to be picked.  Some surprises, though, are a bit more startling.  Like this little guy--a petrified rat we found when we moved the garden shed a couple months ago.  He was perfectly preserved underneath the shed.  Kinda cute. Kinda not.  Surprise.

New Blooms: A Photo Essay
