Spring is finally here!

I honestly felt like this winter might not end and that we'd never see spring again.  But I was at the garden this weekend and it is in full force people.  The garden is bursting with so many different greens and bright colors. Here are some of my favorite pictures I took.

Herculean Move

At last Saturday's Work Day, members took on the huge job of moving the tool shed from the back, to the shadier spot in the front where the compost used to be.  The goal is to make more room in sunnier spots for individual plots.  I'll be honest, I had my doubts that the shed could be moved but I should have known that a group of dedicated people can get anything done.  And I captured it all on camera!  (Note: if you are a garden member and you don't want your photo included here, please email me and I will remove it.)

Getting the new spot ready for the shed.

A plan is being made.

One . . . two . . . three . . . LIFT!

The group carries it up the hill--this was amazing to watch.

Getting it in place!

What was more amazing was that the group needed a couple more able bodies to lift the shed so Peter asked two men on the street to help and they willingly did so.  Proof that this is truly a community garden.

Oh, yeah!

Everyone surveys the work they did.

The shed in its new home.  Kinda feels like it always belonged there.  Great work, everyone!

Important emails

A couple weeks ago, Shelia emailed out key email addresses of accounts that go directly to the coordinators involved. I thought it would be helpful to keep these on the blog too in case anyone needed to reference them:
steeringcommittee@615green.org

openhours@615green.org

communityassignments@615green.org

compost@615green.org

groupprojects@615green.org

memorialgarden@615green.org

now that we have membership coordinators we will create a
membership@615green.org

And of course if you ever want to email the blog, the email account I've set up for that is 6.15greenblog@gmail.com
